Snowy Monaro Regional Council and Business Australia have opened the new Snowy Monaro Business and Recovery Hub in Cooma, connecting business owners and community members to bushfire recovery support plus business and community services.

The new initiative is a one-stop shop to assist the growing number of established and aspiring local business-people looking for support, services and information in the region.

“It has been a challenging time for our community and businesses, but the Business and Recovery Hub is another exciting step in support of the economic and social recovery of our Snowy Monaro region,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Through the shopfront the community and businesses alike now have easier access to the wide range of support services offered by both Council and Business Australia.

“We are pleased to partner with Snowy Monaro Regional Council. The Business and Recovery Hub fits strategically with the direction and support being provided through a range of programmes in the region,” said Ben Verning, Regional Business Manager, Business Australia.

“The Business and Recovery Hub partnership is a commitment from Council and Business Australia to ensure this journey continues,” Mr Verning said.

The Business and Recovery Hub, located at 57 Vale Street, Cooma is open weekdays 8.30am – 4.30pm, and is supported by funding from the state and federal governments’ Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund.

The Business and Recovery Hub will be regularly attended by business support services including Business Connect, Strengthening Business, and the REWiRE Small Business Program, as well as Council’s Community Recovery Officer and Assistant Recovery Officers.
