Athletics Showcase coming to Cairns

Council will provide Cairns Athletics with a $3200 grant to assist the club host the Athletics Showcase at Barlow Park on 1-2 May.

The two-day competition, open to athletes south to Tully and north as Cooktown, includes track and field events, followed by specialised training from national level coaches who would not normally be accessible to local athletes.

More than 500 athletes are expected to take part in the competition.
