Closure of Greenpatch and southern sporting

With the onset of heavy rainfall, which is expected to continue for several days, Council has closed the Greenpatch camping ground in Gordonvale, as well as southern sporting fields.

The Greenpatch campground, which is on the Mulgrave River floodplain and prone to flash flooding, will be closed until further notice.

Southern football fields, including Petersen Park in Edmonton, Alley Park in Gordonvale, Johnson Park in Gordonvale, and Bill Wakeham Park in Babinda will all be closed until further notice.

Council will inspect the sporting fields on Thursday and Friday to assess if they can be reopened for the weekend.
