After a successful launch last year, the Tracks festival is rocking and rolling back to Timboon.
South-West Ward Councillor Kate Makin said it was great to see the event was back after being postponed last month because of bad weather.
“We’re inviting everyone in the region to come along and enjoy the free, COVIDSafe event on Saturday 8 May,” Cr Makin said.
“The show will run from 2-6pm with live music and great food from local businesses.
“Bring your chair or a picnic blanket and settle in for a family-friendly afternoon at the old railway precinct in Timboon.
“There was a great turnout to the first Tracks festival and Council is really excited to support the event for a second year.
“Our aim is to grow it into another hallmark attraction to boost Corangamite Shire’s reputation as a place for visitors to explore and stay.”
The headline act, Bon Jovi Forever, gives a high-energy delivery of all of Bon Jovi’s anthems such as ‘Living on a Prayer’, ‘Always’, ‘Bed of Roses’, ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ and ‘It’s My Life’.
The Show has featured on The Footy Show and tours nationally to sell-out audiences.
Covers band Amplitude is a new combination of experienced artists from across the South-west. It includes Avalon members Jade Egan (drums) and Tamara Hookway (vocals) and Tim Corridon on bass, along with Michael Dean (guitar and vocals) who has played in numerous lineups over the years. They play crowd-pleasers from 80s to modern rock.
Opening act Flynn Gurry is another South-West local. His single ‘Winter’ made number 4 on the Triple J Unearthed Roots chart. He won the FReeZA Push Start competition in Camperdown in 2017 and was a finalist at the National Busking Championships in 2018. He combines folk, blues, indie and roots influences in his original songwriting.
