The Shire’s social media page will pay tribute to York’s servicemen and women in the lead up to and during the 2021 ANZAC day weekend.
Stories will pay respect and commemorate all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and honour the contribution and suffering of all those who have served and continue to serve.
Shire President Cr Smythe added “Last year we united in a unique way for Anzac Day and I am sure this years commemorations will continue to show the true Aussie spirit and mateship". However you choose to reflect and give thanks to those whose selfless actions have afforded us the quality of life we enjoy today, I ask that you do it safely and proudly.”
Stories and silhouettes taken from the major ANZAC Centenary exhibition created in 2018 by the Shire of York through its Residency Museum will feature from Thursday 15 to Thursday 29 April 2021 in the York Library.
