Anzac Day services are back in person this year after being forced home to the driveway in 2020. Here is a list of Anzac Day services across North West Queensland, in alphabetical order by shire: Boulia, Burke, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, McKinlay, Mount Isa, Richmond and Winton. Boulia Shire There will be a dawn service 6am at the Boulia Cenotaph. There will also be a 10.30am service and those wishing to march should assemble at the post office at 10.15am. The 10.30am service will be followed by a morning tea at the Boulia Shire Hall Burke Shire Gregory: Assemble 5.15am Gregory Park for a 5.30am commencement. At the conclusion of the service breakfast will be served at Gregory Hall. Carpentaria Shire Normanton. The dawn service will begin with a traditional rum and milk at the Albion Hotel at 5am. Then march to the Cenotaph at 6am. There will be a breakfast following the march at the Albion Hotel. Assemble for the morning march at 9.45am at Normanton State School. March to the Cenotaph at 10am with morning tea to follow the service Karumba: The dawn service will be at 6am at Sunderland Park. Breakfast will follow the service at Karumba Rec Club. Cloncurry Shire There will be a gunfire breakfast from 4am at the Post Office Hotel Dawn service parade to fall in at the Cenotaph at 5.40am with the service to start at 5.45am. There will be breakfast immediately after the service at the Post Office Hotel for a gold coin donation. Parade for the commemoration service should assemble at Cloncurry RSL Building at 9.10am for march to the Cenotaph. The service will commence at the Cenotaph at 9.20am. The Cloncurry CWA will provide morning tea at Florence Clark Park following the service. McKinlay Shire Julia Creek - Dawn Service:March from RSL at 5:30am, Service at 6am Day Service: March from RSL at 10:15am, Service at 10:30am Lions Ladies Morning Tea at Peter Dawes Park, following the Day Service (Gold Coin Donation) McKinlay - Dawn Service from 6am at the Cenotaph on Middleton Street Mount Isa City Council Council is assisting the Mount Isa RSL Sub-branch to facilitate the event on Sunday, April 25,which will include a Dawn Service at 6am at the Cenotaph on the front lawn of the Civic Centre, followed by a Gunfire Breakfast in the Civic Centre auditorium. The Anzac Day Parade is from 9.30am, and a Morning Service will be held at the Cenotaph from 10am. The street parade is taking a new route. More details here. Richmond Shire 5.50am Dawn service at Jack Brown Lions Park 6.15am Free community breakfast at Moonrock Cafe 8am Assemble post office for the Anzac Day march 8.15am March down Goldring St to Jack Brown Lions Park 8.30am Anzac Day service at Jack Brown Lions Park BYO chairs, hat and water bottles. Head to the Lions Club barbecue after the service Winton Shire There will be a dawn service at 6am at the Winton Memorial Cenotaph followed by breakfast at 6.45am at Winton Shire Supper Room. Veterans march will be at Riley Street carpark at 9am.
