The Gympie region’s Rainbow Beach has been announced as a finalist in the Queensland Tourism Industry Council’s Top Tourism Town Award for 2021.
We need your help to secure the top prize. The overall winner will be determined by a panel of industry judges and you, the public.

“The fact is, as Queensland’s best tourism destination, Rainbow Beach sells itself,” said Gympie region Mayor Glen Hartwig.
“I am not surprised at all that the town has been named as a finalist in this prestigious award and I have no doubt, with our community behind it, we will get the win.
“There aren’t too many industries which have been affected on the back end of COVID-19 like the tourism sector.
“It’s important not just for the residents and business owners of Rainbow Beach, but also the residents and business owners of the 36 other towns in the final, to get their visitor numbers back up.
“In the meantime, this is really good validation of what we have known all along. The Gympie region is, and is set to continue as, one of Queensland’s most sought after destinations,” Mayor Hartwig said.
Public voting is now open and will run until 26 April.
Individuals can cast their vote for their favourite tourism town and go into the running to win a $2,000 Apollo Motorhome travel package.
