Bellingen Shire Council have a new online and printable Community Directory resource which is available to groups and organisations in the Bellingen Shire. This project is part of Council’s commitment to enhancing community resilience as part of the Bushfire Recovery and Resilience Program.
This resource, aimed at local clubs, organisations and groups who provide community services and activities, is a great way to increase community participation and connection in the Bellingen Shire.
Examples may include organisations that:-
provide services that are free, or minimal cost, or are funded by the council, state or federal government. provide services that can be accessed by people in the community and are free, low cost or subsidised. run events to support people or groups in the community. provide advocacy or support services to the community. There is no cost for groups and services who would like to register, and groups are now being encouraged to view the directory and sign up to either add a new listing or make additions and changes if already listed. The directory can be accessed through the Bellingen Shire Council website here https://www.mycommunitydirectory.com.au/New_South_Wales/Bellingen
Groups that have been included in other directories such the hard copy directory produced by Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre and the list of community groups on the I Love Bello Shire website, may already be listed as many have been transferred. These groups are still encouraged to register to keep their listing up to date and add any additional information such as up and coming events. Once registered, changes can be made at any time by the organisation.
To support groups with registration, Council staff will be available at Dorrigo Library on Tuesday 11th May from 10am to 3pm and Urunga Library on Tuesday 18th May from 10am to 3pm.
If you would like to register to list your group or service, please visit https://www.mycommunitydirectory.com.au/Register or call the Community Directory team on 1300 762 515.
