On Saturday 1 May 2021 Council’s Youth Services team will host a free BBQ in Romsey from 12pm to 1.30pm and give young people aged 12 – 25 an opportunity to share their experiences and thoughts for change.
Held at the Romsey Skate Park, the event will be focused on hearing about the opportunities, as well as the challenges and barriers that exist for young people in Romsey.
John Hausler, Director Corporate and Community said that Council was hoping to hear from any young people who live, work or are looking for work, or recreate in Romsey.
“All contributions are welcome no matter how big or small. Even if it’s letting us know just one thing you would change – we hope you’ll come down and share that with the team,” said Mr Hausler.
“We know there is no ‘one-size fits all’ solution and so the more kids, teenagers and young adults who share their experiences and tell us what they want – the better placed Council is to make informed decisions.”
Parents are welcome to accompany children, acknowledging the forum will be mediated to ensure young voices are the primary focus.
“We were delighted with the level of engagement at the Romsey community meeting in March, and we’re hoping to hear from just as many young people at this next event,” said Mr Hausler.
In the case of wet weather, alternate arrangements will be made and shared via Council’s social media channels.
Join us at the Romsey Skate Park, 50 Main Street Romsey, 3434 on Saturday 1 May to have your say.
