Council is seeking community feedback on plans for accessibility and safety works along Queen Street in Warragul.
The works are part of the final stage of the Warragul CBD Streetscape Project, which is jointly funded by Council and developer contributions.
Key features of the draft concept designs include:
Upgrading and relocating the public toilet block closer to Queen Street to improve access and passive surveillance. Installing a centre median strip between Smith Street and Mason Street to provide traffic calming and an opportunity for a pedestrian crossing. Improved footpaths and disability access. New line marking for bike lanes, median and turning lanes. Re-establishing and extending the significant tree avenue along the south side of Queen Street.Council’s Community Infrastructure team visited businesses along the street in the past week to discuss the concept plans and seek feedback.
Following the consultation period, the community feedback will be presented to Council for consideration, with construction expected to begin in early 2022.
Community members and business owners are encouraged to review the draft concept designs and provide feedback to Council.
This consultation opportunity is open until Monday 24 May 2021. More information is available at www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/Haveyoursay
