Eagle-eyes urged to focus on nature

Get back to nature in Maroondah and be involved in a global challenge to record and photograph as much local biodiversity as possible.

The City Nature Challenge is open to all residents, who are invited to find, photograph and record native flora and fauna in Maroondah.

In partnership with fellow Eastern Melbourne Councils - under the banner of ‘Melbourne - Eastern Metropolitan area’ - we are competing with more than 400 cities globally to better understand our local environment.

Through participation, not only are you gaining health and wellbeing benefits, you are increasing our overall knowledge of our natural surrounds.

Simply, download the iNaturalist app, check out our many natural reserves, parks and trails, and log your observations. The data compiled will include the number of different species identified as well as total observations.
