Remediation of Landslip on Kalang Road Kalang & Removal of Load Limit

A landslip and subsequent pavement failure that resulted from the March flood event necessitated in remediation works approximately 14 km along Kalang Road.
Widening works that commenced from Friday 23 April 2021 have assisted in removing the 4 tonne load limit that was enforced since March. Works undertaken are a short term measure, with longer term rehabilitation works necessary to ensure stabilisation of the slope. Council will continue to liaise with affected road users as additional assessments of the site are undertaken.
Minor delays to travel may be experienced as give way signage is in place for single lane access through the site.
