Meet Council's Brain Trust Moree Plains Shire Council has an exciting opportunity available for an ambitious and progressive leader to join Council as the Director of Corporate Services. Reporting directly to the General Manager the Director of Corporate Services role calls for a talented and adaptable leader with significant experience in leading change at a senior management level who can assist in driving the future success of Council. You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, strategic management capabilities and create a values based culture, while fostering effective and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work alongside and collaborate with the brains trust of Moree Plains Shire Council, our executive leadership team: General Manager – Lester RodgersLester Rodgers has worked at Moree Plains Shire Council for 25 years, beginning his career as a ranger and working his way up to the top of the leadership ladder, reaching peak seniority as General Manager. As the General Manager, Lester oversees the functions of the entire Council, with the support of the Executive Team, to ensure the objectives outlined in the Community Strategic Plan can be achieved. Director of Planning and Community Development – Angus Witherby Angus Witherby has been employed at Moree Plains Shire Council since June 2015 and engaged with the Moree community since 1980. Angus, together with his team, coordinates a diverse range of portfolios within the Department. Director of Engineering (Acting) – Alan Lawrance Alan Lawrance is a Chartered Professional Engineer on the National Engineering Register. He is a consultant on contract to Council, joining the team in January 2020. Alan has worked in Local Government for the past 31 years, serving at numerous regional and urban councils in both permanent and temporary positions. This followed an earlier period in State Government with the Roads and Maritime Services.
