It’s cakes, coffee and social connection on the menu at Hampton Community Centre when community members get together for Nourish.
The program - held Wednesdays from 10.45am–3pm, provides residents the chance to nourish their mind, body and soul with a host of free activities including a walk to the beach and community lunch. As part of Council’s Annual Community Grant program - Nourish received $7,000 funding to establish the initiative.
Partnering with another successful Annual Community Grant recipient, Chatty Café, attendees can also have a chat with volunteers - the makings of a day full of social connection.
Manager of Hampton Community Centre Melanie Tighe said Nourish is a great example of different community groups coming together.
“Not only do we have Chatty Café, we also have Year 10 students from Bayside Glen Eira Kingston Local Learning & Employment Network, who are studying a Certificate 2 in Active Volunteering, making the delicious coffees,” Melanie said.
Bayside is home to many community groups making a positive difference in our community.
Council is proud to support our community groups to help build a stronger and more connected Bayside.
