Sunraysia residents have a chance to further contribute to the exciting new Powerhouse precinct redevelopment by sharing their stories, memories and photos relating to this area of Mildura.
Hundreds of residents have already provided their feedback on the concept plans for the precinct, which will be transformed into yet another popular community space along the riverfront.
In a bid to ensure this precinct and the Powerhouse building itself reflect the history and experiences of this part of Mildura, residents are being asked to contribute.
“Whether it’s photos from our region’s formative years when the riverfront was the centre of trade in our area, to more recent stories, photos or recollections, we want to gather as many experiences related to this area as we can,” Mildura Mayor Jason Modica said.
“It could be you, or one of your relatives, used to work inside the Powerhouse building when it was operational, or one of your relatives took part in a community or sporting event along that area of the riverfront decades ago – these are the stories we want to hear and see.”
Content collected from the community will be used as the inspiration point for the development of on-site and digital interpretation across multiple platforms in the precinct, ultimately aimed at providing a deeper level of connection and enriching the visitor experience.
To contribute your recollections, experiences or photos to this project contact Community Place Making Officer Jill Antonie at [email protected] or on 03 5018 8100.
