Congratulations to Warringah Aquatic Centre’s resident Swim Club, the Piranhas who placed 10th at the National Championships on the Gold Coast last month!
It’s the highest ever ranking for the club with their squad swimmers participating in 72 individual races, two relays, and 16 finals. This earned them two gold, four silver, five bronze medals, and achieved 39 individual personal best times - a wonderful result.
A number of the club’s swimmers train at Warringah Aquatic Centre with Big Blue Swimming every morning and evening with coaches there every day pushing them to achieve their best.
Head coach at Big Blue and with the WASC Piranhas, Cameron Gledhill was over the moon about the result.
“Our swimmers have trained so hard and have overcome so much through 2020 and then the Beaches lockdown at Christmas. I’m so proud of every one of them.”
