Council will be undertaking essential geotechnical investigations as part of the Fixing Country Bridges Program on Justins Bridge. These works are part of ongoing investigations into the removal of the current load limit and replacement of the bridge with a reinforced concrete structure.
As a result, these works will necessitate the full closure of Darkwood Road at Justins Bridge between the hours of 8:30am and 4pm on Tuesday 18 May 2021 and Wednesday 19 May 2021, weather permitting.
The crews undertaking investigations will commence on Tuesday morning with a mid-span borehole through the existing bridge. Pending drilling progress, it is hoped that the closure could be reduced to 1 day – this will be communicated through a VMS board placed onsite.
Emergency services have been notified of this closure.
Council apologies for any inconvenience these works will cause. Should you require any further information please contact Joshua Corlis, Civil Projects Engineer - Structures on (02) 6655 7300.
