Nominations are closed and judging is underway for the 2021 Snowy Monaro Business Awards, with more than double the number of contenders compared to 2019.

The independent judging panel made up of 14 business leaders from across the country – more than half of which are from outside the region – are now entering their deliberations and casting their votes for this year’s winners.

Community-nominated categories were twice as popular as the self-nominated business categories, further demonstrating the massive increase in popularity the awards have seen for 2021. Voting in the People’s Choice Awards opens soon.

“Through the difficulties we’ve all faced these past 18 months, the business community proved their commitment to our towns, our villages – to our entire region – and the level of community participation in the nominations this year shows just how grateful the people of the Snowy Monaro truly are,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

“The Snowy Monaro Business Awards Committee’s commitment to an independent and impartial judging process recognises the importance of only the very best being declared winners on the night.”

Judges were selected from businesses, agencies and government based on their relevant experience and expertise, both to our region and to the award categories on offer.

A gala awards dinner ceremony will be held on 28 May 2021 once the judging process has concluded and the People’s Choice votes have been counted.

The Snowy Monaro Business Awards would not be possible without the collaboration and teamwork of the Cooma, Jindabyne and Bombala Chambers of Commerce, Business Australia and Council’s Economic Development Team. We would like to thank our sponsors SnowyHydro, Sublime Marketing, Kristy McBain, RDA Southern Inland, Elders Insurance, and Snowy Mountains Helicopters; without their generous support and assistance, this major event would not be possible.
