Time is running out for residents to have their say on Gannawarra Shire Council’s 2021/2022 Proposed Budget, with feedback accepted up to 5pm Monday, 24 May.
The draft version of Council’s key financial document for the coming 12 months has been on public display since 22 April, and can be viewed online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/budget or at Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang.
“Council thanks all residents who have provided feedback so far, and encourages those yet to do so to complete a submission before Monday, 24 May,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.
“The 2021/2022 Proposed Budget aims to maintain current services and invest in town developments, recreational facility improvements and tourism initiatives that will grow the Gannawarra now and into the future.
“The proposed budget relies on partnerships with other government bodies to minimise the impact on ratepayers and complies with the State Government’s Fair Go Rates System.”
Residents are able to provide feedback regarding the 2021/2022 Proposed Council Budget online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/budget
“Anyone needing assistance to complete a 2021/2022 Proposed Council Budget submission are welcome to visit either the Cohuna or Kerang Customer Service Centres, where Council’s friendly staff are able to help,” Mayor Gillingham said.
All submissions received will help formulate the final version of the 2021/2022 Budget, which is to be presented to the June 2021 Council Meeting on Wednesday, 16 June.
“The Proposed Budget is one of the major documents Council produces each year, and I encourage all residents to take the opportunity to look at the document and have their say,” Mayor Gillingham said.
