Don’t miss the opportunity to have your say on the City of Wanneroo’s Strategic Community Plan 2021-2031 (SCP).
Residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the Vision, Purpose, Goals and Priorities in the Plan, which outlines the City’s vision and aspirations for the next decade and sets out the key strategies to achieve them.
A major review of the SCP began in August 2020 with a workshop that considered strategic priorities and risks.
Extensive consultation between October 2020 and February 2021, during a challenging time in WA of COVID-19 restrictions and bushfire emergencies, revealed the community’s priorities were safety in public spaces and delivering sustainable and environmental outcomes.
These insights were used to shape the Plan and set the City’s Vision, Purpose, Goals and Priorities.
Residents will be able to have their say on a range of priorities and goals relating to inclusivity and accessibility in all City spaces, embracing the City’s rich cultural heritage and growing a strong local economy to achieve a better future.
City of Wanneroo Mayor, Tracey Roberts encouraged community members to take the opportunity for direct input into the City’s future as a place where people are proud to live, work and do business.
“We are planning for the future and we want to hear from our community to help us shape those plans,” she said.
“With our population expected to double in the next 20 years, this roadmap will support continued growth, connect our communities and enhance the liveability of our vibrant, active and inclusive City.
“By having a say on the plan, our residents, businesses and community groups will be helping to deliver the infrastructure, programs and services that meet the immediate and longer-term needs of our diverse community.”
