Know a community group that could use some funding?

Byron Shire Council is inviting local community groups to apply for its pot of annual funding through its Community Initiatives Program – and the deadline for applications is 11 June, 2021.

“This year we are very pleased to have $44,000 to share across community groups whose activities are located across the Byron Shire,” Council’s Director Corporate and Community Services, Vanessa Adams said.

“In general, this is split into $5,000 grants, plus some smaller grants, that can be awarded to groups with the most pressing needs as well as those starting or wanting to sustain a great community project that can make a real difference to people’s lives.

“We’ve simplified our application process this year to make it easier and to encourage applications from more community groups.

“So if you’re involved with or know of a community group that has a particular need, or perhaps they are starting or wanting to sustain a great initiative or project please let them know about this opportunity for some financial assistance,” Ms Adams said.

To apply for Council’s Community Initiatives Program, community groups need to be an incorporated organisation or auspiced by an incorporated organisation.
