Mildura Rural City Council has partnered with local youth-engagement and support group HomeBase to provide a range of fun and free activities for the community to enjoy along Mildura’s riverfront precinct each Sunday.
Sunday Fun Days will continue from this weekend until 9 June, allowing young people and families to come together and participate in a range of run, creative and inspirational activities.
Activities include:
Sunday 23 May Family Olympics 11am – 2pm Families can participate in a range of fun competitions including an egg-and-spoon race, three-legged race, paper lane competition and many other popular favourites.
Sunday 30 May Arty Farty Day 11am – 2pm Boasting tables full of easy and fun arts projects for all ages, activities will include self-portraits, dream catchers, tissue boxes monsters, nature craft bugs and a large art project.
Sunday 6 June Mildura’s Got Talent 11am – 2pm This activity will provide a chance for the community to either see the entertainment – or be the entertainment. Featuring music, instruments, dancing and singing, this is an opportunity for young people and families to exercise their performing talents, or simply enjoy the show.
All activities will take place in the Mildura Wharf precinct.
Councillor for Community Development and Gender Equality Helen Healy encouraged Sunraysia residents to take advantage of the month-long program of activities.
“Working alongside the team at HomeBase we’ve been able to come up with a variety of fun activities appealing to a broad range of ages and interests, and they’re all free to participate in,” Cr Healy said.
“These are great opportunities for people to socialise, meet new people and simply have fun with family and friends along our popular riverfront precinct.”
No bookings or registrations are required. Residents can simply drop-in to the activity of their choice.
