Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is finalising kerb, channel and parking lane renewal works in East Street Clifton.
TRC Infrastructure Committee Chair Councillor Carol Taylor said this project followed on from the concrete footpath renewal which took place earlier this year.
“Our regional towns are so important to Council which is why we’re committed to upgrading essential infrastructure in these areas,” Cr Taylor said.
“Our goal is to make sure that no matter where you live in the Toowoomba Region, you have an adequate level of service.
“To make sure Clifton is well-serviced, we completed footpath upgrades in two sections of the town earlier this year.
“Work was carried out from Clarke Street to Victoria Street, followed by the section from Grimes Street to Victoria Street.
“With this work completed, our staff was then able to undertake parking lane and kerb renewal works on East Street.
“This is part of Council’s ongoing focus for the renewal of assets, which have reached an age where they become difficult to maintain and can cause safety issues to motorists and pedestrians.
“The very welcome rain in recent months delayed the finish date for this project, however the initial seal will be completed this week.
“Council thanks the community for their patience and co-operation during these works.”
