Celebrating 5 years of Paintback! This May marks the fifth anniversary of Paintback, the official product stewardship program for Australian paint.
In that time, Paintback has established over 155 collection locations and run 130 popup collection events, providing convenient access for 88 per cent of Australians.
West Tamar Council has been proud to work with Paintback to facilitate the collection of unused paint at our Exeter Waste Transfer Station.
Australians are on track to have safely disposed of more than 28 million kg of paint and packaging since Paintback started five years ago.
DIY and commercial painters can drop their unwanted paint free of charge at any collection site or pop-up event. Paintback transports this used paint from collection sites for treatment and repurposing, significantly minimising paint in landfill and inappropriate disposal methods.
Paintback’s success story is made possible through collaboration with over 100 local councils like us and through the efforts of our community who contribute to taking our paint and packaging’s colourful past to a brighter future of responsible disposal and innovative reuse.
West Tamar Council congratulates Paintback on their fifth anniversary and encourage anyone who has unwanted paint in their sheds or garages to take it to their local collection points.
