Lithgow Council has released Draft Lithgow Development Control Plan 2021 (DCP) for public review and comment until 13 June 2021.
The plan provides detailed planning and design guidelines to assist with the planning, design and assessment of proposed developments throughout Lithgow.
The plan is all about achieving good design outcomes that recognise and respond well to the context and character of the area where the development is to be located.
Many of the controls and standards identified in the document are not new but bringing them together within this document provides greater certainty and transparency for both developers and the community.
Mayor Ray Thompson said today “The Development Control Plan should make it easier for applicants to find out what is an acceptable form of development to both Council and the community and I encourage everyone to review the document and provide feedback during the exhibition period”.
You can view the document and supporting information on Council’s “On Exhibition” webpage at https://council.lithgow.com/draft-lithgow-dcp-2021/ , or alternatively at Council’s Administration Centre or any of the three town libraries during ordinary opening hours.
Council will also be holding a drop-in information session on Thursday 3rd June 2021 (subject to any Covid restrictions that may apply at that time) at the Lithgow Library between the hours of 10am and 3pm. You can simply drop-in at a time convenient to you and speak with one of Council’s Planning Officers who will be only too happy to help you understand the plan and what it may mean for you.
