It’s been almost two years since the Queensland Waste Levy was introduced resulting in opening hours changing at some of council’s waste facilities. To find out what’s working well and what isn’t, council is inviting residents to provide their feedback through an online survey. This follows on from community consultations in 2020, which led to adjustments to the scheduling to better suit residents’ needs. The survey will be available via council’s Have Your Say, Central Highlands platform until 5.00 pm on Friday 9 July. Your feedback will help inform a review of all waste facility hours, which will also consider budget, delivery costs, technology, staffing, environmental impacts and consistency across the region. Recruitment is underway for two extra resource recovery attendants to assist in meeting community needs while council’s long-term waste strategy is developed.
