The NSW Electoral Commission has brought online its series of webinars and information pages for anyone considering running for office in the September 2021 local government election.

As part of its commitment to a vibrant and representative participatory democracy, Snowy Monaro Regional Council is promoting initiatives supporting prospective candidates – including these resources made available by the NSW Electoral Commission.

The first two of the webinars are now available on the NSW Electoral Commission’s website, covering candidate information and election funding/disclosure, with six additional webinars scheduled through the end of August 2021.

“The Snowy Monaro is privileged to have a vocal and politically active population,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

“Democracy can only thrive when we have as many different kinds of people as possible participating. I urge everyone who cares about this region to have a look at the information that’s available to decide whether running as a candidate for election to Council is right for them.”
