The funding for the pathways was provided under the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, which aims to assist community led recovery from COVID-19 by supporting local jobs, firms and procurement. Burrinjuck Bridges 1&2 and Garryowen Bridge are all complete with guard rail touch-ups and road resealing around the area to be completed in the coming weeks. Nanima Road – road works are progressing well, work is ongoing. Wee Jasper Segment 68/Good Hope Road – progressing well onsite, road works underway. Shingle Hill Way bridge and road works to start Monday, 21 June, weather permitting Murrumbateman Winery Trail construction has commenced

Fixing local roads program round 2 Council accepted a grant for $2,285,500 under the NSW Fixing Local Road Grant Program Round 2 for the resealing of 46km of Council’s local road network. A $326,500 Council contribution, as required by the grant approval will also be allocated from the Development Contributions Reserve.

NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program 2020/21 - Adventure Playground, Riverbank Park Council has accepted $1,784,700 in funding from the NSW Public Space Legacy Program to construct an ‘Adventure Playground’ at Riverbank Park Yass. This funding is correlated to Council setting and achieving higher development assessment performance targets in the short to medium term.

Council applied to the NSW Public Space Legacy Program to undertake a major redevelopment of the Riverbank park open space network to the value of $1,784,700 with the following three projects:

1.  $1,010,400 Adventure Playground 2.  $410,200 Chinamans Creek ‘Interpretive & Educational’ Trail and Wetlands 3.  $364,100 Yass River ‘Cultural’ Walking Trail

Council has been successful in obtaining the full funding amount of $1,784,700 however this is only to complete one project which is the ‘Adventure Playground’. Commentary from grant funding providers is that the grant provider wanted to ensure that the grant would leave a significant lasting legacy in a single project. Therefore, they have given the full amount to one project only.

Crago Mill Precinct Project – Design Options At its April 2021 meeting Council approved the development of designs for the proposed Crago Mill Precinct. Brewster Hjorth Architects (BHA) have prepared massing options that identify the functionality and spaces required to meet the design requirements. The space and functionality requirements have been ‘massed’ to provide massing or master plan options for the site.

At the May council meeting, Councillors resolved that Option 1b and Option 5b be the preferred options as the basis for the design of the Crago Mill Precinct. The preferred options will be put on public exhibition for the community to view and provide comments on. Discussions will also be held with Yass Valley Business Chamber and the Yass historical society.
