Mackay-based artists Karen Hurford and Natalie Field are ready to bring their creative minds to the Coalface Gallery for the Little Birds Postcard Exhibition from 1 June 2021.
Isaac Regional Council and the Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network (CQ RASN) are encouraging locals to visit this community-based arts project and get involved.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday 1 June to 25 June 2021 at the Coalface Art Gallery in Moranbah.
On Saturday 5 June 2021, residents are invited to join artists Karen and Natalie for a special exhibition opening with a difference as part of the Shine Bright Festival. The artists will facilitate a creative space where visitors may make their own postcard shaped artwork to take home or leave on display as part of the exhibition. The opening is being held from 10am to 12:30pm.
Mayor Anne Baker said creative spaces are a great way for Isaac residents to get involved in art exhibitions and to get inspired.
“This exhibition is part of the Shine Bright Festival in conjunction with Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network and will bring an exciting array of artwork to our region that our residents can also contribute to”.
“Being creative is a great way to keep the mind active and it’s great for our mental wellbeing. I encourage everyone of all ages to visit and get involved in this fantastic opportunity” she said.
CQ RASN’s Regional Arts Project Officer Trudie Leigo said “this festival is aimed at creating opportunities for artists, as well as our communities, as we all recover from COVID 19”.
Residents who wish to attend the special open day are encouraged to RSVP by visiting http://Speakup.isaac.qld.gov.au/little-bird-postcard as registration is essential.
