South East Traffic Solution

The Tasmanian Government announced the South East Traffic Solution in 2018  help maintain the liveability of Sorell and the Southern Beaches by improving travel time reliability through a more efficient and safer road network.

Midway Point Intersection Solution Sorell Southern Bypass 

A bypass between the Tasman Highway near the Giblin Drive intersection and the Arthur Highway near Nugent Road.

Some footpaths in the Stores Lane/Giblin Drive area are closed off to the public as they are in the construction site. This includes part of the Waterway Trail, which winds along the Sorell Rivulet from Pioneer Park to Stores Lane. March 2021 to October 2022 Contractor – Hazell Brothers

Planning to widen both causeways and duplicate McGees Bridge.
