Colac Otway Shire Council will reopen the Great Ocean Road and Colac Visitor Information Centres to regional Victorians and interstate travellers tomorrow, in accordance with the easing of State Government COVID restrictions.
Council’s Colac Customer Service Centre will reopen its doors on Monday, with customers encouraged to continue using phone and online services as the most convenient ways to access information, make payments and report an issue.
Bluewater facilities including pools and gymnasium will remain closed, as required under the new State Government directions.
Colac Cinemas and Colac Makers’ Space will reopen from tomorrow, with social distancing and mask rules reinstated and capacity reduced.
COPACC shows scheduled for next week including Pete the Sheep, and the Australian Ballet, have been postponed due to COVID19 restrictions impacting Regional Victoria and Greater Melbourne.
Colac Otway Shire Mayor Cr Kate Hanson said the easing of restrictions for regional Victoria was welcome, particularly the return to school and the reopening of retail.
“The easing of restrictions is vital for our local businesses and I encourage the community to continue supporting the business community, while adhering to COVID-safe requirements including the use of QR codes and masks,” she said.
“We know that exposure sites are as close as Anglesea and COVID19 can be easily transmitted. I urge customers to help protect their community and to make reopening as easy as possible for businesses by checking in with QR codes and wearing masks as required,” Cr Hanson said.
“Businesses have done it tough for well over 12 months and they will need to meet more requirements as they open up, so let’s help them by doing the right thing.”
