Will celebrity chef Matt Golinski make Logie winner Costa Georgiadis weed it and reap? Or will Costa shrimply make Matt a little shellfish around the kitchen?

It may be whisky business but here’s a rare opportunity to see the 2021 St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend superstars go head-to-head in an outdoor cook-off this Sunday, 13 June 2021.

Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said it is going to be a chef and gardener stand-off in the wetlands’ outdoor kitchen.

“Matt and Costa will showcase the best of greater Whitsunday region’s produce including St Lawrence’s mud crabs in a fun and approachable way and talk about the local producers who have become their friends over the years,” Mayor Baker said. “This is honestly an unspoilt adventure you don't want to miss.”

Mayor Baker said glamping packages, the Greater Whitsunday Food Network (GWFN) celebrations and art workshops are all booked out.

“We’re exceptionally excited there’s been so much interest in the Wetlands Weekend as the St Lawrence coastline is set to burst into life,” Mayor Baker said.

“Even though some of our signature events are completely booked out, residents and visitors alike have a chance to beat the crowd and book their entry tickets online via Isaac Tickets as there’s still a lot on offer.

“Trek through the bush for an immersive experience as you tour the wetlands and learn more about endangered birdlife, turtles and reef or get hands-on and artistic with creative arts workshops.

“Costa will dig into his field of gardening knowledge in a four-part series of workshops this Saturday from bugs and birds to discovering new waste habits.”

The event is proudly brought to the region by Isaac Regional Council in partnership with community and government partners.

The St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.

Visitors and residents are encouraged to beat the crowd and buy their general admission tickets online for $10 this Saturday, 12 June 2021 and Sunday, 13 June 2021.
