Mareeba Shire Council has an opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team.
The Management Accountant works closely with the Financial Accountant to coordinate the two key functions of the Finance group and provide high-level support to the Manager Finance. The Management Accountant provides day-to-day operational direction, supervision and leadership to the Management Accounting team in the preparation and delivery of budgets, modelling and reporting, asset management and procurement.
The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and five years of accounting experience in a multidisciplinary organisation. Membership, or eligibility for membership, into CPA or Chartered Accountant is essential. A consistent track record of achievement in delivering high-quality, customer-focused financial and associated management reporting is also a requirement along with a demonstrated ability to produce budgets in accordance with relevant standards, legislation and guidelines as well as the proven ability to produce complex management reports and evaluate projects based on whole-of-life costing and cost recovery.
