Budding filmmakers or those wanting to learn how to capture memorable moments with their smartphone are encouraged to take part in a three-night Smartphone Stories workshop, occurring later this month in Cohuna.
Supported by Creative Gannawarra this free workshop, designed for participants 16 years and older, will be held from 5.30pm to 8.30pm between Monday, 21 June and Wednesday, 23 June at the Cohuna Community Meeting Room.
Participants will learn across the three sessions how to make two movies - one that will be produced during the workshop, focusing on developing a participant’s personal story, and the second to be completed within three months of the sessions that will assist preparing participants to produce their very own short films.
Participants will also be provided the opportunity to present their second production piece during a public screening, as well as participate in an optional three-day extension program.
“In developing the knowledge of how to professionally film and edit entirely on their smartphones, participants will be able to further voice and visually tell their stories and the stories of their community and culture,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“Whether you are a beginner wanting to grow more confidence in filming yourself or a business owner who wants to improve your social media content, this workshop will provide the skills to get you started planning, shooting, editing, and sharing your videos.”
Participants are required to supply their own smartphone.
