Residents and businesses of Geeveston will benefit from improved broadband services and data following the Huon Valley Council’s successful funding application to the Australian Government’s Regional Connectivity Program.
Deputy Mayor Sally Doyle joined Federal Regional Communications Minister Mark Coulton, Senator for Tasmania Jonno Duniam and Sam Marshall of nbn Local at the Geeveston Town Hall today to discuss the project announcement.
“Locals and tourists visiting and staying at the iconic Tahune Airwalk, near Geeveston, will soon enjoy better digital connectivity, meaning they can stay in touch and share more photos of pristine southern Tasmania,” Minister Coulton said.
“This project will make the area more accessible online and in person.”
The upgrade will make Geeveston an even better place to live and run a businesses, so the Huon Valley Council thanks the Australian Government for helping to fund these important upgrades.
