Cockburn Council has put in motion a historic agreement to enter into a 21-year lease with Discovery Parks at Coogee Beach Holiday Park, with an option to renew for another 21 years. opens in a new window The Council voted unanimously to approve the Heads of Agreement at its Ordinary Meeting on Thursday 10 June. It is designed to ensure long term residents impacted by Discovery Parks’ (DP) proposed $13.5m redevelopment over an estimated 13 years, will receive help to relocate providing those costs do not exceed $20,000 per dwelling.
Over $226,590 has been allocated to 49 community groups and organisations in the second round of the 2020-21 Cockburn Community Fund – the City of Cockburn’s Grants, Donations and Sponsorship program. opens in a new window This round’s funding included Community Grants of $62,966, Cultural Grants of $11,485, Donations of $68,800 and Sponsorship of $36,500, Environmental Education Grants for Schools of $8,000, and Sustainability Grants of $38,840 – totalling $226,591.
