In response to flood impacts affecting Keevers Drive adjacent to the Bellinger River between Raleigh and Repton, Council is finalising the concept design and required cost estimates to be approved by TfNSW for works to be performed under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
A large slip circle has formed in the road pavement and shoulder, and as a result the pavement is cracking, and the road formation in the South-bound lane is at risk of beginning to fall away.
It is therefore necessary the traffic flow is limited to one lane until the road embankment is repaired.
Initially damaged in February 2020, the detailed design and subsequent construction works have been further delayed by additional damage caused during flood events in both December 2020 and March 2021, increasing the required scope of repairs.
Once the revised cost estimates are approved, detailed design, procurement and then construction works can commence. Council is looking to progress these works as a priority and envisage commencing the construction works later in 2021.
Council thanks you for your continued understanding and patience with this project as we seek to progress the delivery of these necessary works.
