As part of Council’s recent upgrade of parking meters in Byron Bay, an additional payment option is now available through the PayStay App.
“We are one of 29 Councils around Australia now offering the PayStay App as a convenient alternative to paying at the meters,” Council’s Director Infrastructure Services, Phil Holloway, said.
“The PayStay App is free to download to your mobile phone and offers a range of benefits including wayfinding map features, it’s easy to use and it allows you to pay for the exact amount of time you stay in a car space which can save you money.
“Some people will still prefer paying at the meter – but if you’re someone who enjoys the convenience of an App on your smartphone, I recommend taking up this opportunity,” he said.
Byron Shire residents who have or wish to apply or renew an Pay Parking E-Permit will still need to do so via Council’s website.
Although E-Permit holders will not need to use the PayStay App to make payments at the meter, there are other handy features of the PayStay App such as maps showing timed parking zones that anyone using Council’s pay parking meters in Byron Bay can take advantage of.
The PayStay app can be used for all Council-owned parking areas in Byron Bay. This excludes the Captain Cook, Tallows Beach, Broken Head Reserve and the Byron Lighthouse carparks which are operated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
