Benalla Rural City Council is asking the community to participate in the 2021 Australian Liveability Census.
The census provides important feedback about how our community is performing and enables us to compare our community to others across Australia.
Mayor Cr Danny Claridge said he hoped people would contribute to the project.
‘We encourage people to give voice to what matters to them,’ said Cr Claridge. ‘The census will allow us to compare how our community performs alongside other communities.’
The survey is the first being conducted by Place Score. So far, more than 80,000 Australians have already participated in a Place Score research study.
Kylie Legge, CEO of Place Score, said the census was designed to empower local communities to have more of a say in the decisions that impact their everyday lives.
‘The 2021 Australian Liveability Census will help change the way that people’s values and ideas for change are actually captured and measured. We are turning opinions into data that helps government make better decisions,’ said Kylie Legge.
The survey takes less than 15 minutes but the results will have a lasting impact,’ said Cr Claridge.
Participants have the chance to win one of 10 x $100 shopping vouchers.
