NEW CCTV NETWORK FOR LAKE CARGELLIGO
Residents will notice some activity happening in and around Foster Street Lake Cargelligo over the next few weeks as Council contractors commence the installation of a closed circuit television (CCTV) network.
Lachlan Shire Council Mayor, Councillor John Medcalf OAM welcomed the project as “another great initiative for Lake Cargelligo.
The safety and well-being of our community is our top priority and Council’s CCTV program is one of several initiatives designed to improve public safety and community confidence,’’ Mayor Medcalf added.
The project funded under the Australian Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program will see the installation of 4 x 4-way cameras in the following locations: Foster/Lorne, Foster/Canada, Foster/Lake Streets and Foster Street opposite Memorial Hall at a cost of $153,587. Two cameras will be permanently fixed, and two will have the capacity to be relocated when work commences on the recently announced $1m Foster Street redevelopment to revitalise the Lake Cargelligo business precinct. Council envisage that the CCTV installation will be completed by 30 June 2021.
On Monday 21 June 2021, Council’s Corporate Project Officer, Neil Folkers will be available at the Lake Cargelligo Office between 11:00am to 12:30pm to discuss the CCTV program with members of the community. For further information please contact Council on 6895 1900.
