$11.9 million to improve road network

Council today endorsed $11.9 million of works related to its annual transport network program.

Council approved $3 million for the asphalt overlay program; $4.5 million for the major pavement rehabilitation program; $2 million for resealing roads; and $2.4 million for the Suburban Enhancement program which provides for new kerb and channel and road shoulder sealing.

The funding for the works, which are partly provided through the State Government’s Works for Queensland Program, is part of Cairns Regional Council’s 21-22 Budget to be announced next Wednesday (30 June).
