Four local arts and cultural projects will share in more than $33 000 thanks to the latest round of the Regional Arts Development Fund.
The funding is a partnership between state and local governments that invests in quality arts and cultural experiences across Queensland.
‘The latest funding allocation in round three totalled $33,723,’ Central Highlands Mayor Kerry Hayes said.
‘I congratulate all of the grant recipients on their dedication to increasing arts and culture opportunities in our community and am excited to see the latest round of events come into fruition.’
The successful applicants include
Heather Wehl who will be upskilling with artist David Taylor in Flinders Ranges Emerald Art Group Incorporated for an art residence project led by Tricia Reust delivered in Emerald, Blackwater, Capella and Sapphire Council initiated printmaking workshops with Peta Lloyd and Phillipa Sturgess to coincide with Arts Around August 2021 Council initiated performance art delivered across the region for Arts Around August 2021.Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said that the long standing RADF program would help to boost Queensland’s plan for economic recovery, supporting artists and arts workers with employment opportunities through $4.2 million in funding for regional cultural projects.
“The Palaszczuk Government is investing $2.08 million in RADF for 2020-21 and an additional $2.13 million will be contributed by 59 councils across Queensland,” Minister Enoch said.
“Each year RADF showcases the extraordinary innovation of the arts and cultural sector in regional communities, delivers rich arts experiences and provides important professional opportunities for artists and arts workers.”
