OUR OPPORTUNITY The Planning, Environment and Community Service’s (PECS) Engaged Communities Department is currently seeking an enthusiastic people-person to join their fast-paced team in the role of fixed term full time Community Relations Officer (Youth), based in the Isaac Region. This position will be responsible for fostering the development of resilient communities by identifying the needs of residents and developing and implementing relevant programs and strategies to meet these needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The successful applicant will be required to, but not limited to:

Act as a contact point and liaison between Council, schools, government and non-government organisations which provide youth support and welfare services in the Isaac region. Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with schools, government and non-government organisations which provide youth support and welfare services in the Isaac region. In collaboration with Engaged Communities Management Team develop and implement policies, processes and strategies which progress the outcomes of the Community Strategic Plan as it relates to the youth of the region, including an Unmet Youth Needs Study for Isaac and a long-term Youth Strategy. Develop and delivered targeted programs and events regionwide which support the youth population (aged 0-17).

The successful candidate must hold a Working with Children Blue Card prior to commencement in the position.

$35.47 per hour (level 3) + allowances; Normally 72.5 hours per fortnight; Six (6) month fixed term secondment; RDOs in accordance with Council Policy; 12% super in accordance with Policy.  Applications Close: Thursday 8 July 2021
