Kyogle Council has extended the public consultation period on proposed changes to the Kyogle Local Environmental Plan (LEP).
Kyogle Council Mayor Cr Danielle Mulholland announced today (Friday 2 July) that the closing date for people to lodge submissions on the proposed changes had been extended by two weeks to 4pm Friday, 16 July.
Cr Mulholland said the decision to extend the public consultation period was made in response to requests from the community.
“Most Councillors had been contacted by several people who had only just seen the planning proposal to amend the LEP and wanted more time to consider its implications,” she said.
“Council is all about transparency and engagement so in response to these requests, we have extended the time for submissions to be received by a fortnight.
“I would also encourage anyone looking at the proposed changes to consider them in conjunction with Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) so they get the big picture of the direction Council is heading.”
