Partial road closure – Whale Beach Road

Whale Beach Road is partially closed, with a short section between Norma Road and Florida Road, Whale Beach reduced to one lane, controlled by portable traffic signals.

The partial closure was put in place on Thursday, 1 July, following a geotechnical inspection that indicated that the retaining wall supporting the road required remedial works due to a damaged stormwater pipe.

This partial closure is expected to remain in place for between 6 - 8 weeks while temporary works stabilise the retaining wall and repairs are undertaken on the damaged stormwater pipe. Further works to permanently remediate the area will be planned following this.
