A $3.8 million redevelopment of the Galvin Park Soccer Pavilion has reached a key milestone, with pavilion B now complete and pavilion A on track for completion in the coming months.

This Wyndham City project includes the demolition of the reserve’s previous pavilion and construction of two new pavilions that include a large community room, six new change rooms that meet modern standards and are welcoming for all genders, a large kitchen and canteen, public toilets and officials’ facilities.

Wyndham City Active City portfolio holder Peter Maynard said the redevelopment is the fifth stage of the Galvin Park Master Plan rollout, which has also included a new $2 million tennis pavilion and new $1.7 million oval.

“As our population continues to grow at a rapid rate, it’s important that our community facilities keep pace,” Cr Maynard said.

“Once complete, the new soccer pavilions will service four soccer pitches and provide a brand new home for the Werribee City Soccer Club.”

“It will also support the many community groups and schools that use this space and will be fully compliant for disability access.”

“This latest redevelopment will transform Galvin Park into a state-of-the-art sporting hub and will help boost participation in sport.”

The project is jointly funded by Wyndham City, which has invested $2.8 million, and the State Government ($1 million).
