About the Position:
An exciting opportunity exists for a fixed term Apprentice Plumber – preferably 2nd or 3rd year - to join Isaac Regional Councils Water & Wastewater team, based in Dysart. This opportunity combines both hands on experience and the completion of a nationally recognised qualification. This full-time fixed term position is an initiative of Isaac Regional Council which supports learning and development opportunities in the region. The Apprentice Plumber position provides assistance with plumbing, water and wastewater reticulation services across Isaac Regional Council.
The Water and Waste Directorate ensures an integrated approach to internal organisational services across the organisation. The Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for managing and maintaining a safe, quality water supply and reliable waste collection and treatment service to the Isaac Regional Council communities. These services are managed in alignment with regulatory and legislative requirements.
For this position we offer:
Normally 76 hours per fortnight; RDO in accordance with Council Policy; 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading; 12% super in accordance with Council Policy Subsidised HousingAbout You:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice who possesses:
Minimum completion of at least Year 10 school certificate. Current Queensland Driver’s Licence would be highly regarded. Knowledge of water and sewerage principles and practices would be highly regarded. Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are essential. Sound level literacy and numeracy skills, applicants may be required to undertake pre-employment literacy and numeracy tests. Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Previous experience or awareness of plumbing practises would be highly regarded. A genuine interest in working within the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant is essential.What it’s like to Work with Us:
