Over more than twenty years Snuff Puppets have developed a unique performance style merging puppetry and formal contemporary movement theories to create character-driven giant puppet performances on stage, in the street and among crowds. Their performances explore the bond of complicity between audience and performer and see just how far we can push it.
A series of one-day performance workshop: playful, physical & fun! Learn puppetry skills and create acts with giant puppets.
Students go out onto the street for a roaming performance around St Albans at the end of the day.
The workshop is suitable for all experience levels: artists, students, and the general public. Ages 14yr and up. Snuff Puppets puppetry is non-verbal so language is no barrier.
Some strength, flexibility, and stamina ~ or adrenaline! ~ are needed to get the most out of the workshop.
A team of three Snuff Puppets lead the workshop, including the company’s artistic director Andy Freer with over 30 years of puppetry experience.
