Check in TAS App Changes from 7 July

Published on 06 July 2021

On Friday 2 July 2021, the Tasmanian Government announced more businesses will be required to use the Check in Tas app by 31 July, and from 7 July 2021 each time a person enters a relevant location they must use Check in TAS regardless of how long they stay.

Information for the Community: Please take the time to download the Check in TAS app. If you do not have a smartphone, or are unable to use the app, others in your group can check in for you on their device, or staff can assist you to check in. All members of your group must be registered.

FAQ’s and a link to the app download is available on the Department of Health’s dedicated Coronavirus Website.

Information for Businesses: Business Tasmania is a Tasmanian Government service which supports anyone operating a business in Tasmania. If your business needs help with the Check in TAS app, contact [email protected] or phone 1800 440 026 and select option 2.

To find out who must comply, please refer to the mandated businesses, organisations and events information: www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/check-in-tas/Information-for-organisations-and-businesses

Information for leasees and regular hirers of Council facilities: Letters have been emailed to tenants of Council facilities advising of the new requirements.  If you haven’t heard from us as yet, please contact 6430 5700 or email us at [email protected]

Mandated Council Facilities:   Have QR Code posters placed at their entrances.

The Council Offices, Works Depot, the Marine Terrace Multi-Storey Carpark and the Burnie Waste Management Centre are not yet required to use the Check in TAS app and will continue to use their existing visitor and security systems.
