“The ‘Towards 2042’ CSP is a chance for our community to shape the long-term vision for the Snowy Monaro. This council has a demonstrated our commitment to community consultation, and the public can be confident their input will make a difference,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

“I encourage everybody who hasn’t already to visit Council’s Your Say page, and head out to one of the pop-up stalls to learn more and get involved.”

Towards 2042 aims to answer a number of key questions, focusing on where we are now, where we want to be in twenty years, how we will get there, and how we will know if we’ve been successful.

Council is initiating and preparing the Community Strategic Plan, but it is a community plan. Many partners, such as state agencies and community groups, will be responsible for its implementation. The Community Strategic Plan ensures the whole community is working towards a shared vision for a better future.

The Towards 2042 Project is led by the Canberra Regional Joint Organisation (CRJO) with participation from: Bega Valley Shire Council, Goulburn Mulwaree Council, Hilltops Council, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Snowy Valleys Council, Upper Lachlan Shire Council and Yass Valley Council to develop the new round of Community Strategic Plans.
